  • SEAT will coordinate the political and institutional relations for the Volkswagen Group in Spain, Portugal and North Africa
  • This area will also guide the relationship with partners and start-ups to build up the future mobility ecosystem of the brand
SEAT global Communications director Christian Stein has been appointed General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations for SEAT internationally and of Institutional Relations for the Volkswagen Group in Spain. In his new role, which he will assume on 1st November, Stein will continue to lead all of SEAT’s Communication activities and will also coordinate Volkswagen Group Institutional Relations strategy in Spain, Portugal and North Africa.
This integration aims to create synergies and give greater coherence to all of the SEAT brand’s communication, institutional and outreach activities worldwide. The combined area of Communication and Institutional Relations will be responsible for enhancing the image of the company and consolidating relations with all the stakeholders associated with it, from employees to the highest Public Administration officials, including the partners and start-ups across industries with whom the company is building up its ecosystem of innovation and mobility.
“Christian Stein’s appointment as General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations is an acknowledgement of the valuable work carried out under his leadership”, pointed out Luca de Meo, President of SEAT and of the Management Board of Volkswagen Group España Distribución. “The merging of both areas under a sole leadership is a logical, strategic decision in order to continue to strengthen the global positioning of SEAT and of the Volkswagen Group in Spain.”
The Volkswagen Group’s institutional representation
SEAT’s clout in the projects that the Volkswagen Group is carrying out in the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa has led SEAT to coordinate the interests of the Group in this region. In this context, the President of SEAT was recently appointed highest representative of the Volkswagen Group in Spain. With his new responsibilities for Institutional Relations at both SEAT and the Volkswagen Group, Stein will further support de Meo’s dual capacity.
According to Dr. Thomas Steg, head of External Relations and Government Affairs of the Volkswagen Group, “as the person in charge of the Public Affairs of the Volkswagen Group in Spain and Portugal, Stein’s goal will be to continue to strengthen the positioning of the Group in a region as important as the Iberian Peninsula, where the Group is established since the 80’s and has a leading industrial position”.
An international career
Stein (Neuilly, France, 1970) has been the director of Communication at SEAT since 2015, after leading the Marketing department since joining the company in 2011. He is a member of SEAT’s senior management and in his new role will continue to report to Luca de Meo as before. He holds a degree in Economics and Social Sciences and a degree in Business Administration from the École de Commerce et Management - EM Lyon Business School, located in Lyon (France), and speaks five languages. Prior to joining SEAT, he had developed his career exclusively at PSA Peugeot Citröen in France, Belgium, UK and Spain.

Best Fashion House in Daka

Bright flowers, motifs, colors in a snippy, modern style were the highlight of Rina Dhaka's show at the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week. From sheer to appliqué, this was one power-packed show.

The designer couldn't emphasize more on the hard-work the artisans put in to create each piece. "It takes months to embroider a single flower, at times," she told Economictimes.com, right after the show.

Talking about her personal style, Dhaka said, "It's exactly what I'm wearing right now (a regular top styled with a purple dhoti that flaunted a resplendent, golden border). I don't mind wearing a hot dress but I know I'm going to die in it, though once in a while I take the pain."

Dhaka, who has been an industry veteran for over two decades now, has seen patterns change and fads die out, and which is what explains her state of fashion nirvana. "I have done the whole wearing-a-safety-pin-in-my-ear fashion while growing up, but that's in the past. Now, I have to worry about what others will wear, I don't bother about what I'm wearing."

The designer, also, was vocal about the return and revival of the saree on the fashion scene. "The saree, the strong, the wrap skirt. It's all here to stay."

Her own collection, too, drew inspiration from the whole nine yards, "The orange outfit from my collection shows that a saree can be draped in so many ways."

"There's nothing like a saree for us to draw inspiration from. It's constant plagiarism, forever and ever."

We agree Ms. Dhaka. All hail the saree!
